The Shafer Center For Crisis Intervention
Volunteer at The Shafer Center For Crisis Intervention

Volunteers are a gift to any community. The Shafer Center operates with five full-time staff members, but could not provide the numerous services and support throughout an eleven county area without the help and caring of our committed volunteers. They, without a doubt provide invaluable services to the victims seeking our help. In 2006, volunteers donated 5,972 hours of time to our Center.

HOW VOLUNTEERS HELP?
Volunteers assist by answering our 24-hour crisis line after business hours. Volunteers sign up for shifts convenient to their schedules. They accompany victims to emergency rooms, law enforcement complexes as well as court proceedings. Volunteers are also given opportunities to assist with our speaker's bureau which is used to educate children as well as adults concerning issues pertaining to sexual assault and child sexual abuse.
